Acupuncture is a nonpharmacological treatment option for multiple different diseases and symptoms. This system of medical treatment is based on the principle of applying small needles to specific points in the body.
Acupuncture translates to “needle penetration.” Small needles are placed into specific acupuncture points, and acupoints, are identified in TCM as areas to open qi. Qi is arranged into meridians or channels that allow the flow of qi. Traditionally and most commonly, needle penetration is the means of opening qi. Manual pressure, electrical stimulation, laser, heat, and even ultrasound have also been utilized. The application of these modalities is thought to manipulate qi in much the same way that needle penetration would. Acupuncture is mainly safe.
Acupuncture is often used to address a variety of health conditions, including pain management, stress reduction, and the promotion of overall well-being. Some studies suggest that acupuncture may stimulate the release of endorphins, the body's natural painkillers, and influence the nervous system.
First, we will meet with you to determine your particular needs. We will review your history and discuss what you want to achieve with each treatment. The procedure is painless. Tiny, hair-thin needles are placed on the body to balance your natural energy. Depending on your treatment, the needles are left on the body from as few as 10 seconds to 30 minutes.

Although classical acupuncture is several thousand years old, modern acupuncture began in China in the middle of the 20th century. Not only does it include the use of acupuncture needles, but it combines traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) with Western medicine to form a complete system of integrated East-West medicine. This modern system uses electrical stimulation of various types, including microcurrent therapy, as well as laser, and intravenous and injection of biological substances and low dose pharmaceutical drugs. Acupuncture injection therapy, or AIT, is used extensively in China and all Far Eastern countries where acupuncture is practised.
In Europe, also by the mid-twentieth century, extensive research into homeopathy led to the discovery and development of modern homeopathic preparations called antihomotoxic medicine. Many of these medications are prepared in injectable forms for the practice of Biopuncture, a Western version of AIT.
AIT and Biopuncture are complementary techniques invaluable to physicians for the treatment and management of chronic disease, fatigue syndromes, and chronic pain, and they have been used in anti-aging medicine and medical aesthetics.
Acupuncture Injection Therapy (AIT) applies the injection of medications into traditional acupoints and other anatomical sites for the treatment of disease, alleviation of pain, prevention of illness, and the improvement of physiological function for athletic performance, age management, and aesthetics.
Biopuncture describes a specific therapeutic technique that uses biotherapeutic substances for injection in acupuncture points and other sites on the body for the purpose of bio-regulation that serves to treat pain, prevent illness, optimize health and longevity, and treat disease. Biopuncture has been called the bridge between traditional acupuncture and biomedicine.
Mesotherapy is the practice of injecting a small amount of medication and/or vitamins into the mesoderm or middle layer of skin for the treatment of acne, arthritis and joint problems. sports injuries as well for cosmetic purposes, such as reducing cellulite and localized weight loss. Invented in the 1950s by French Dr. Michel Pistol. Mesotherapy is becoming an approach with many new innovations like MesoGlow, MesoPeel, MesoBoost and Lipod is solve. Each is derived from the original principles of mesotherapy and may involve injecting a customized cocktail of substances that can include vitamins. minerals, and amino acids. herbs, procaine and other local anesthetics, pharmaceuticals, and homeopathic medicines.
Janet G., Travell, M.D., a general practitioner, developed an interest in spinal manipulation in the 1940s and shifted her focus to soft tissue therapy. By 1955, she had developed her trigger point (TrP) theory of pain, a hypersensitive palpable nodule in a taut band of soft tissue that gives rise to referred pain. Treatment is based on relieving muscle spasms with stretching and the injection of procaine or normal saline into trigger points.
Radiofrequency (RF) energy treatment is a technology for non-surgical tightening of the early signs of loose or sagging skin; ideal for those people who either don't want or don't believe they are old enough to have a surgical procedure.
With deep, controlled heating of the fatty layers under the skin, the effect of tissue tightening and increased blood circulation mean that fatty deposits are drained through the lymphatic system, reducing the appearance of cellulite.
Radiofrequency is stimulating your own collage production. During a treatment, a machine is used to heat the skin to between 38–40 degrees with radiofrequency, which feels like a hot stone face massage - you do feel the heat in the skin, but it's comfortable. When RF energy penetrates into the dermis, the electric energy is translated into thermal energy, accelerating blood circulation. Meanwhile, the temperature of internal tissue is increased heated collagen fibres are shrunk immediately and rearranged to simulate the regeneration of collagen protein for the long term, reaching the instant and subsequent effect of skin tightening and lifting. There is no downtime - you could easily have a treatment at lunchtime and go out that evening looking amazing!
In ancient China, TCM practitioners were not only considered acupuncturists and herbalists but also surgeons. They had to learn herbalogy to prescribe herbal formulas for treating internal symptoms. Additionally, they had to master acupuncture to address symptoms, trauma injuries, and perform surgery. Nine different sizes and shapes of needles were used in daily practices, with several dedicated to surgical purposes.
Among various acupuncture treatments, there is one called acupotomology or short acupotomy. Acupotome (Knife Needle) is a relatively new type of non-invasive acupuncture/micro-surgery using a small needle-scalpel, invented by Professor Zhu Hanzhang around 30 years ago in China. It is equivalent to modern-day surgical procedures, where a special acupuncture needle is used to resolve deep-rooted muscular-skeletal scar tissues, pains, or injuries. This slightly thicker and more blunt instrument can get under the skin, breaking apart adhesions and muscle knots more effectively than a regular acupuncture needle. Acupotomology has been widely accepted and applied in clinics in China and another 15 countries worldwide, offering a safe method to eliminate deep-rooted pains.
This technique is employed to treat chronic injuries, soft tissue disorders, and abnormal bony growths causing acute pain. Combining techniques from acupuncture and surgery, acupotomology demands an extraordinarily perceptive understanding of human anatomy from its practitioners.
If you have musculoskeletal-related old injuries or deep-rooted injuries causing persistent pain, acupotomy might be something for you to consider.
Acupotomology (acupotomy) works by dissecting adhesions and releasing contractures of soft tissues. This helps to reduce inflammation, elevate the pain threshold, relieve pain, release adhesions, and reduce abnormal tissue pressure, leading to significant improvements in patients' symptoms and quality of life.
